We get up and start packing. I fold all the dirty clothes in one side of the trunk, determined not to open the zipper until we’re near the washing machine at home. We leave around 9 with an ETA of 3 pm at La Butte au Bois, a Relais & Chateaux hotel with a Michelin star restaurant.
We switch drivers every two hours. It’s smooth driving with excellent weather and light traffic. Arne achieves a top speed of 230 km/h (going downhill), I match my previous personal record of 200 km/h. We arrive around 4 and have a small walk through the adjoining forest to loosen the muscles. We stroll from the Landhuis to the main building of the hotel for our gourmet dinner. Food is really, really excellent, worth coming back for.
